Multi Grain IPA, Prohibition Pig

Multi-Grain is an India Pale Ale (IPA) brewed by Prohibition Pig in Waterbury, VT. Prohibition Pig cans the 32oz crowler in the brew pub behind the restaurant. This grain based IPA gives off many flavors including grapefruit, pineapple, pine and an earthy finish. If you ever find yourself near Prohibition Pig, I recommend stopping not only for their great beers but also for the restaurant.

Quality Consistency

Consistency:

  1. Condition of adhering together: firmness of material substance. Firmness of constitution or character.
  2. Degree of firmness, density, viscosity, or resistance to movement or separation of constituent particles.
  3. An agreement or harmony of parts or features to one another or a whole: ability to be asserted together without contradiction.
[Definition from Merriam-Webster.com]

Pictured above is the Double India Pale Ale Punge brewed by Tired Hands Brewing in Ardmore, PA and the consistency is way off. The one poured on the left was drank in February and lived up to the hype. The one on the right was poured in April and it was a huge disappointment. (Both cans were opened one week after acquiring and no filters were added to the photos) Overall, I think Tired Hands brews some great beer, but it would be nice to know the production is going to be the same day-in and day-out.
